I grew up hearing disco so....... Also grew up seeing women in shorts like those, AND no tattoos or piercings. :)
I hear you when it comes to tattoos, I’m raising my grandson and when he was younger I took him to the pool. I would see women who are drop dead gorgeous but have these awful tattoos all over their bodies completely detracting from their beauty. I don’t understand how even bad body art is somehow better than what god gave you.

Body art isn't a thing for me, I much prefer the natural look. However, even with that, unless you are very close, body art just ends up looking like blobs of colour (in most cases, black blobs) with no details. You can see the details up close, but a couple of feet out or more, and it just loses all definition, and its worse the more detailed it is. It may have meaning to the person who has it, but without any context, and it just looks like blobs of colour, and I don't think that even those who go in for it, think it looks good.

I experienced the absolute worst 'new take' of an old favorite song while shopping at wally-world before the bad weather moved in yesterday.

This was good, what I remember it to be when it came out: Peter Gabriel

But while shopping ... I thought the song they were playing in the store sounded familiar. Had to stop and listen. It was sledgehammer, but done as a remix -- weird thing. It.Was.An.Abomination.

Horrid version:

And here I thought this was the remix to Sledgehammer....

"Steam" seems like a direct lead in to "Big Time". I really liked the earlier Peter Gabriel material, especially between his leaving Genesis and through to the "So" album. Personal favourite is "Shock the Monkey" when Gabriel was playing around with African/World beat type music. His videos are really creative, too.

KKrit -- As I sit here with my SO cd in my hands ... I just now played Shock the Monkey. followed by In Your Eyes.

"Don't Let Go" has to be one of the most beautiful duets that exists. Both Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush are outstanding on it. I'm a big fan of Kate Bush anyway, and have liked Peter Gabriel for a long time, so its great to hear them together.

Beautiful song
And his video of it was spot on...

I miss being part of an 'us'. ... JW

Water line failed at the trust, so yet again the chryslers are bumped from first in line. It was a 3 foot, all weather pipe stub... lots of digging sticky clay mud. Finally had to lay on my belly and dig out the last 8 inches or so because some dimwit installed this with no gravel in the pit and no housing to keep the dirt from the connection.
Ergo -- tunes were needed for my 3 hours of fun this morning.

Two lines that slay me....

Lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor...

Shake it like a polaroid picture...

Outkast : Hey Ya

JW -- I swear I'm going to get to post a relevant chrysler moment soon.

Here's a blast from the past, from one of Philadelphia's finest. Really interesting lyrics, and strangely apropo for today's world:

I've been listening to them since I was 14. Saw them live in Meridian CT with a friend in 2006 and long story short we ended up getting invited to the after party...!! Got a shirt sitting in one of my mother's closets that they all autographed! Hopefully a picture we got with Rob Hyman (the keyboard player) is still there, awesome night!

Really good band, and for this song at least (they actually have a lot of great songs with good lyrics), really great lyrics. I think their debut album, although unrecognized by most, has to have been one of the best debut albums of all time. Great band, great lyrics, with great musicians playing with enthusiasm.

This place needs a little verity after all it’s the spice of life. This song was on pop radio when it first came out in the early seventies.

Lot of super groups over the years, but ‘The Dirty Mac’ maybe one of the top 5 of all time.
John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Mitch Mitchell.
This was a one and done for a Rolling Stones live Special, The Rock & Roll Circus.
