Saw this idea elsewhere....so I stole it. :sunny:

Now everyone can post what the weather is doing in your neck of the woods...

Just got through that cursed ice storm...

Actually sunny here today but cold.

-12C without windchill, radio said -28C with windchill. Tomorrow at -2C. Weather changes quick in Cowtown (+8C to -4C in an hour, an hour later it was -9C).

This is all somewhat misleading. Compared to out east, -12C is not as bad due to the very low humidity levels. Most years, there isn't much snow in Calgary (lat 2-3 years have been an exception). WInd does blow hard a lot of the time though. Other thing that is different (I was born in Toronto, moved to Montreal at age 2 to 34) is the sun's intensity. It is noticeable, and leads to odd things like snow and ice melting at -10C on a clear day (with low or no wind). THe famous Chinooks are another factor; while the temperarure can rise rapidly (-8 one day, +12 the next), a lot of people (like me) who move here later in life end up suffering Chinook headaches. This is due to the the very sudden, and extreme drop in air pressure when the Chinooks come through. THe air pressure in your head is then above the air pressue outside, making for one doozy of a headache to the extent that in one instance, I couldn't stand up. The effect does diminish the longer you live here, though.

I'd be afraid to even try to take a leak in that.....
That's a bad place to get frostbite....

Cold but not to bad here...around 20°F
And oh goody....it snowed again..
Time to clean off my Fifth yet again.....

Too damn cold for me! It's 25 here, a regular heat wave for you! I've been to the Great White North a few times during the summer, but you couldn't get me up there now on a dare! How the hell do survive up there? Like the little brother in Christmas Story! I can't lower my arms!

Lol...I guess you just get used to it...
It almost never gets that cold where I am.
But like kosta said....it's different cold in different places.
Different dampness level....
Here -25° would probably feel as cold or maybe worse than -40 out west
In the maritimes out east -20 would go through you like a steel rail and the wind will tear the skin off anywhere uncovered.
Trust me....I never love it but you do adapt to it..

So you don't put your tongues on metal flag poles? That school that he did that was the school system I worked for. Parma City Schools. Like they say, it ain't the heat, it's the humidity.

Nope....no pole tonguing up here....:help:
I've gone out when it's arctic and cleaned the snow off the car without gloves
Then grabbed the door handle with a wet hand and had it stick....
No fire department though....
