Hard to believe the season is over already, seems like it just started.

On the wiring. Waaaay back around 1982, a friend of mine bought a '65 Satellite bracket car. It was already drag only. First thing we did after seeing how the genius he bought it from did the wiring was tear every inch of it out and start over, doing it the right way.

None if the wires were secured, and the splices were just twisted together and taped, some with actual electrical tape, others with duct tape. It was ridiculous. That was when we decided to go over every square inch of the car. Ended up spending many hours decobbling it so as he put it "so I won't die at 120 mph". Fortunately, he didn't pay top dollar for the car though. If your curious, it ran in the high 11's with a 383 auto.

Yeah, I know the feeling, albeit a much milder version of the sort of winter you guys get there!!

I'll be getting two things done this winter:

1) swap to the 1" rear bar (from the current 3/4" piece)
2) install the FF 1.25" T-bars

My cars (Aspen and Mustang) are officially in for the winter,,,,,,they salted Oct 31st :(

Those 11 months until Montana will just fly by :)
Unfortunately, the older you get, the quicker time goes by. Unless it's the winter months. Then time passes by very, very slowly, lol.

With the winter weather coming in it was a great afternoon to spend in the garage. I got all the pistons cleaned. Took the old rings off as new rings will be ordered.
The rods will also be changed. I have a new set already here.
Really easy to change the rods. I like this way, simple and fast.

I'm curious: how do you check the rod bolt stretch with these?

I think I spy a little openning in the rod body that appears to center on the bolt itself, but it's hard to tell in the photo.

Anyways, how about that massive pin??? holy smokes...!!!
Torque them up and run
