You may have noticed, I haven’t been particularly active with actual car posts lately. Last year I had to start a new job that put me on the road 50% of the time and when I’m home, well, the car had been put on the back burner; And in, January we learned something that really put a damper on car projects for the year…I can finally share with ya’ll:

Not to mention the 3.5 Eco Boost is nothing but trouble and expensive to un-trouble usually. Don't miss working on them one tiny bit.
Ford has been doing stuff wrong for years now. I still can't believe the goofy cost saving measure on the 4.0 Rangers where they used the same cylinder head on both sides of the engine and just mounted one side backwards with its own timing chain in the rear of the engine.

My '08 Mustang has the 4.0 SOHC. Fortunately, by 2008 they had the timing chain failure problem solved.

Another day, another meet. Did a 200 mls roundtrip with the 69 Charger today (almost unbelievable 17.3 mpg), great meet, but weather was kind of not-nice (strong and cold gusts)...

Here you'll find my pictures - including (IIRC) 1 Diplomat Station.

Car Meetings / 2025 05 Kaunitz | gecius.de Gallery

This meet is running since 1986 at that location and has its origins as "Jukebox and Straßenkreuzer" meet. Straßenkreuzer is a typical German combined word for Cars with extra-large sizes (Straßen => Streets, Kreuzer => warship [like destroyer size]), referring to the 50's with huge American cars with their wings versus micro-cars (original Beetle and smaller) in post-war Germany.

You know what's worse? It's when you look all over for that tool you just had in your hand, and then find it,,,,,,,,in your hand.

That's when you know it's time to shut off the lights, lock the door, and go in for the night.
