1979 Volare Roadrunner drag project

I'm know there is a weight savings going to the chrome moly. As far as how much I'm not sure. My cage is mild steel in the volare. It was almost double the cost to go with chrome moly and I think it needs to be tig welded as well which I don't have access too. Chrome moly and tig welds sure do look nice though!

yeah, it might need to be tig welded if the tech inspectors wanna-be jerks, but I have seen some god-awful welds on people's roll cages in car shows/drag races

I have seen some flinstone weld jobs too! These won't be tig but they will be decent enough for tech inspection.

Fuel cell mounted, X brace in, funny car cage partially tacked in. Big thanks to my dad and brother for all the help!

awesome build you got going on. i really like when people put $ and time into there rides, being and f body makes it that much more awesome for me.

i'm really digging the front end. losing 250 lbs off the front is something i should look into. i would pick up some ET with 250 lbs off the nose
