AJ I'm still looking for my dyno sheets for the 452 , I know what the peaks were but i would like to show you the curves of a larger cam with 9.5 to 1 cr motor.

452, I think the one on the top is easiest to make out.

This is the man that can find hp, Stacy.
He is the guy sets up the dyno and does the pulls, he is an exsprintcar racer. One year he got sponsored by Mopar and ran B motors! He's the man that got me going on e-85. His partner Joe is a good friend of mine, these guys build mostly performance engines. There's a new chassis dyno in the back of there shop.
The name of the shop is Grawmondbecks in Mason City Ia.

I've known them for 30 years!
That's my 452 he's working on.

This 440 was first built in 88, TRWs and a basic blue print 9.5 cr to run on pump gas. I did the port work on the heads and it has 2.14/1.81 Manley valves, Mopar mech rockers, Comp springs and shafts and a Mopar p4120661 cam I had on the shelf. 257@050 duration with 5.57 lift, Comp recommended a cam with ten degrees less duration, but if you have a cam on the shelf.........

This motor has had the 590 cam in it and has OVER 400 7000 rpm pass's on it.

I have the converter and gear to make it run 11.50s in my Volare.

That's a pretty impressive powerband, Nice work.

In my 100% street 367, I once ran a 292/508, which IIRC was 251@.050, With Eddie heads and 11.2 Scr. That combo made all it's power from about 5000 to 7000. That was a chitload of fun, but with 3.55s, and a manual trans, I thought that wasn't one of my better ideas; the bottom was IMO too soft, and 5000 didn't come until 43mph, sooooo I yanked it outta there.
To me, a 557*@.050 and a 452 cuber, with over 500hp, lol, is .......... like what do I put it into?, and what am I gonna do with it? It's way too much for this old cowboy. The one I have is already almost too much. Well it is,but I learned to live with it,lol.

Unless I stumbled into another Mopar that's a 4 speed and needs a motor this is my plan B for Volare. There is room for improvement the first thing is new light weight pistons, id like to bring the cr up to 13 to 1, I already have a set of bushed rods

Here's my 500 on the dyno, the only thing that keeps me from having two complete motors is the valve covers and the distributor.
Note the passenger side water pump so I can use a stock F body rad..

I'm going to give you a back story on my Mopars, I have always been a Ford guy but in 1983 I met John D.. Now John was racing a 64 Chrysler 300K and running 11.0s @ 120 mph, he built his motors, transmissions and rearends. That summer he had decided to repaint the 300and I talked him into striping the car before sending it to the body shop, so for a week or so he and I removed all the paint. I also took on the task of making him a fiberglass hood and front bumper.
Over the next thirty years we traded back and forth, body and paint for his motor, transmission and gear work on my Mopars.
John spent many months in the VA hospital in Iowa City in 2013 and 14 and past on 3/9/14. I had rounded up all the parts for 452 and was having Joe put it together as fast as he could ( I was on the road) this gave me something to talk with John about, it was cool I walk in his room or give him a call and there would be no hi Tom he would just unload his thoughts about the 452. He was building the motor in his head lying in bed.
My best buddy past away before I got the big block running and truth be told I didn't touch it for six months after his death.
One day in the fall of 14, I grabbed my collection of bits, stones and flappers and put about 8 hrs in the heads, the heads had been pocket ported to the templates back in the day, I just made them better.
Steve did a valve job on them, we finished assembly then I took it to work and gave it some good paint. The motor sat in the shop then 3/9/15 one year after John pasted, it was dyno time he would have been pleased.
One year latter we ran the 500", John would have danced a jig.

This is the kind of friend he was, back in 91 six of us halled our cars to a track little more than a hundred miles away. Racing starts at 5pm all my buddy's were out second or third round but not me, I won my class then they did something I've never seen before, all the winners had to race each other and guess what I won! The last race was a 1:30am and John stayed to the end, everyone else left after there loss, but not John.

It was a privilege to be a friend of JD.

Sorry for the long post, but it's funny how a Mopar can change your life.

We ran the 500 on 3/8/16 instead of the 9th so the guys at Grawmondbecks could post it on Facebook the morning of the 9th, giving John full credit for the motor.
John, Stacy and Joe worked together at one time.

It seems fast for a bike on street tires and no wheelie bar! I don't know.
