Feel good story if one likes revenge.

Edmonton man who fatally hit toddler testifies of having his thumb chopped off
An Edmonton man who killed a young boy when he drove into a restaurant patio recounted the ordeal of later being abducted from his home and having his thumb chopped off.
According to agreed facts, on May 19, 2013, Suter’s Acura SUV went over a curb, through a glass barrier and into the table where Geo Mounsef was sitting with his parents and baby brother at Ric’s Grill, pinning Geo against the outer wall

I actually feel really lucky to live here. Sure, there are the idiot drivers but for the most part the speed limit is obeyed, if you signal to change lanes they will let you in, when the light turns green they go, most use signals to enter/exit the freeway, change lanes and make a turn...................etc. There's actually not that many crashes around here. I don't remember the last time I saw an "incident" on the freeways, or even on surface streets. This is a metro area of roughly 110,000 so it's not a small town, certainly not giant either. As I said, there are still the loser drunk drivers, the meth heads, the useless idiot POS's that text and drive or otherwise don't pay attention but they only account for maybe 5% of the drivers on the road. Think I'll stay here a while, lol.

In the core of our city there's roughly 3,000,000 people and including "the burbs" it's over 6,000,000 and I'm pretty sure our ratio of idiots is almost the opposite of yours. Or at least 75% inbreds who somehow got their license.....most I'm thinking involved an under the dash maneuver? They sure didn't get it through driving skills......

Only one thumbs up.

LMAO!

I'm somewhere between you two, not just geographically either lol about 300,000 in the city proper, and the metro area just passed into 7 digits a couple years ago. Really depends which part of town you're in, which burb, or even which part of certain roads. Some areas you get a TON of traffic around a boat load of places to eat with liquor licenses and rush hour can be a hair raising white knuckle ride. As long as you "keep your head on a swivel" it usually clears up a mile or five down the road and people regain their sanity.

Wow, all I can say is wow. Are they all brain dead? How about blind and/or deaf?Lucky for them the train was going really slow and was really short.
Maybe I just can't see them in the video but, there are RR crossing lights there, right? Around here 90% of crossings have gates along with the big red flashing lights and the trains are going faster, even those darn Canadian trains, lol.

In the case of the Russian truck driver, he must have seen the lights flashing quite a ways back (they are flashing even before he makes this way around the slight bend). He may have slid, as well. He has no excuse, as he was probably driving too fast for conditions, and didn't slow down early enough, although considering the impact of the second train hitting him was so extreme as to derail the first train, he is no longer there to offer one I would think.

We haven't had cabooses for like 20 yrs here.
Whole 'end of a era' thing.

We have lots of level crossings and there's always people/cars being hit.
Train always wins.

That's how my grandpa died a long time ago (mid '70's). hit by a train. They're not sure what happened. Didn't hear the train or see it, had blacked out maybe, had a heart attck? The train was going through the classic small southern town he lived in (Macon Illinois) only about 15 mph and he drove right in front of it. Hit square center in the drivers side, car spun around into the grain elevator. The cars make and model were almost non-recognizable it was smashed so bad. They said he died instantly, if he wasn't dead before the train hit. He was only about 70 years old but in failing health, hard of hearing and was certainly NOT an idiot driver and had never had a ticket or accident in his life. My point is, not everyone who gets hit by a train does so because they're stupid. As they say, accidents happen.

Irony is, he worked for the railroad for over 40 years repairing and maintaining locomotives.

in that 2nd video, I'll bet that one officer had to go change his pants afterwards!

Oh yeah. I'm sure he had the boxer sweats going on.

I agree accidents do happen. But it amazes me how many idiots that are out there who try to outrun a train.

Russia, China and Mexico have the most bone crushing/bizarre wrecks, then there's some drivers who are jerk offs.
MSP: Man was watching porn while driving before fatal crash
The Michigan State Police Department said Tuesday that a man died
after rolling his car on the ramp from the Lodge to I-75 was watching
pornography while driving. The accident happened early Sunday
morning just after 3:30. Michigan State Police troopers were called to
the ramp from the Lodge to southbound I-75 on a one-car accident. The
preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the car was watching a
movie while behind the wheel, police said on Monday.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt when he lost control
and rolled the car. He was partially ejected through the sunroof and
died on scene.

On Tuesday, FOX 2 was speaking with Michigan State Police troopers about
a different story when MSP revealed the man had been watching
pornography and masturbating while driving. MSP also said the
58-year-old man was not wearing pants at the time of the crash.
