New slicks just in case I can get a few passes in this year.
In Saskatchewan, racetracks are allowed to open July 16. Hopefully my track will open

i have room for bigger tires but my wallet only has enough for these

it would be nice to get out and make a few passes. new front springs, switched to methanol, new slicks..... really want to find out if my changes will make a difference.

haha good old Red Green.
this Saturday or Sunday i will have a trans brake test launch on my driveway that i will video. one way or another, i will get some seat time this year :D

I see you’re running tubes as it’s required to do so.

I’ve also heard of people not using tubes with great success. Supposedly they completely coat the inside of their slicks with Lard or something.....Sealing the porous rubber which in turn won’t let the slick go flat for a lengthy period of time.

What say you?

no tubes. i have never used tubes and not to many people around here do run tubes, in fact i can't think of anyone i know that runs tubes.
i've asked many older racers about tubes and got the same answer, don't need to run tubes. so i take there advice.
no lard or anything is used, go on dry. they do go flat when sitting for a length of time.

First time ever using a trans brake. I didn’t go full rpm just wanted to see if it was working. I had it set at 3000 rpm. Worked and now I’m 100% ready to race. turn up the volume!!

i've had the new slicks now for over a week. still holding air at 12 psi. hasn't dropped any air. my old slicks would lose air in 2 days.

old slicks might be the cause of the leak down of air pressure?

i made it to the race track Saturday and Sunday. made 8 passes. this was the first time running methanol. it's a big learning curve, but that's what it's all about. to learn new things.

Saturday was the learning day. getting the tune right took a few passes but i was heading in the right direction. from 11.40-10.60. not bad but not where i wanted to be.

this morning i changed spark plugs, cleaned the filter from the methanol pump and cleaned all the nozzles. rechecked the timing.
first pass i was rewarded with a new personal best, 10.20 @ 130 mph with 1.42 60'.

the weather was not in my favor, 30*C and the air was at 3900'-4100'.

i'm going to check everything over and get ready for September.

i'll go through some pics from Saturday and share a few
